April CAL Rhapsody Vest Week One

April CAL Rhapsody Vest Week One

Posted by Lorene Eppolite on

Hello Friends!  I have missed you.  I am so glad to be back as your guest host for April.  This month we are making this super fun, and super customizable boho vest in 6 sizes.  We are calling this one the Rhapsody Vest!

The Rhapsody vest uses the Rhapsody Lace stitch and we have made a quick tutorial to teach you how to make it, below.  The hook I used for this months CAL is the 6.5mm Mango Candy Shop.  Candy Shop hooks are my favorite, but you can use any 6.5mm hook, or hook to match gauge, that you want.

We are also using Mighty Stitch worsted weight yarn by Knit Picks.  We have chosen three different fun colors to make our Rhapsody Vests with, but you can use any color you like.  You can also use a different worsted weight yarn, but your finished results will be slightly different, depending on the yarn you choose.

This week your homework is to get your yarn, learn your stitch, get your gauge down AND enter our giveaway to win a 6.5mm Mango Candy Shop hook of your very own PLUS the yarn needed to make the Rhapsody Vest- We will have three winners.

This CAL will be super fun, because you will get to choose your own path to customize your Rhapsody Vest.  We will have three different finishes and three different lengths to choose from, or you can be wild and make it any length and any finish that you want.

Check out this video tutorial for the Rhapsody Lace Stitch, and be sure to add this pattern to your Ravelry favorites to stay up to date.

MATERIALS

6.5mm hook- I used the Mango Candy Shop, or you could use any of our Heirloom Alpha Series, or our Odyssey Series.

Mighty Stitch worsted weight yarn (see images below for length and finish options).

Note about sizing.  This pattern will be available in sizes Small through 3x. Sizes adhere to the Craft Yarn Councils Standard Women's Measurements, which can be found HERE.  This design has minimal ease*, which means it fits snug, if you want your vest to fit looser you should go to the next size for a looser fit.

*1-2" positive ease depending on size.
