I've created a photo tutorial for anyone who needs a bit more help with the Changing Tides Beach Cover up.
PART ONE- Top Section
Lay both completed panels flat. You will need to make sure the the right side is facing out (you will determine this based on how you like it best) and that both beginning chain sides of the panels are on the inside edges.
You will insert your hook in the upper right hand corner of the panel on the left, and place your sc sts along that top/short edge of the first panel. When you reach the end of this section, place your chain sts, these will become the underarm of the left side of the cover.
After you complete your chain sts, you will fold the bottom portion of the panel up (be sure it is not twisted) and crochet along the bottom short side of the same panel. This creates the completed left side of the top. When you reach the end of this section you will place your chain sts, these will become the center of the back of your cover.
After you complete your chain sts, you will move the finished (first) panel to the right of the second panel and insert your hook into the upper right hand corner of the short side of the second panel. Sc along the upper short side of the second panel. When you reach the end of this section, place your chain sts, these will become the underarm of the right side of the cover.
In the same fashion you completed the first panel, you will fold the bottom portion of the second panel up (be sure it is not twisted) and crochet along the bottom short side of the same panel. This creates the completed right side of the top. You will stop here and move on to Row 2 of the pattern.
This is what the top section of the Changing Tides Beach Cover will look like after you complete Row 1 of the waistband.
