Free Thanksgiving Crochet Amigurumi - Hand Turkey

Posted by Lorene Eppolite on

 This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for every one of us who have come together in keeping apart, for the technology that still allows me to connect with friends and family, and most of all, for all the wonderful yarn crafts that help keep me sane! This adorable Hand Turkey has hands for feathers, symbolizing how we have come together this year, both as families and as a population. Much love to you and yours, may you have a wonderful Thanksgiving despite nutty circumstances.

FO leaving a long tail and press the wing flat so the scalloped edge is at the front, then sew the unworked stitches of the wing closed at the back. Weave the tail up to the first few rounds and sew the wings to either side of the turkey body at about round 23 of the body. I only sewed the top curve of the wings to the body to allow the wing to lift.

THUMB now working in the underside of the chain of the thumb, sc in next 4 ch, hdc in next 3 ch, [hdc, dc] in last ch, ch 1, slp st in next 7 sts (over the top of the thumb), dc dec over the last 2 sts of the thumb, SKIP the next sc of the palm, slp st in next 6 sc;

FO leaving a long tail. Weave this tail through the stitches until you get to the thumb, then stitch closed the gap between the palm and the thumb. Repeat this for the gap under all fingers, weaving the tail through the stitches to reach each one.

Stack all of the hands together and fan them out how you wish. Tack the hand/feathers together like this. Sew the hand/feather fan to the back of the turkey, make sure that it doesn’t prevent the turkey from sitting flat.

Weave in all remaining ends. If you’re adding eyes with black fabric paint, daub them on now and allow to dry.

You're done! Enjoy your cute new turkey friend!
