Hello, and welcome to the October Amigurumi Sweet and Scary Treats CAL - Part 2 Frankenstein Popsicle! Get your Furls hook and yarn and get ready to make some of these little cuties! If you're just joining the party now you can find the supplies list here...
The Pattern
Frankenstein Popsicle
Row1: Starting at the top of your Popsicle with tan yarn (or the color of your choosing for your Popsicle) ch x 11 (11)
Row2: Turn, sc x 10 (10)
Row3: Do not turn your work, now sc x 10 down the opposite side of your work (10)
Rnd4-15: You will now be crocheting around the whole piece, sc x 20 (20)
Rnd16: Switch to green yarn (or the color of your choosing) and sc x 20 (20)
Rnd17: Sc x 20 (20)
Rnd18: You will be adding the safety eyes in this Rnd. Sc x 8, place a safety eye in the last stitch you just did, sc x 3, place an eye in the last stitch, sc x 9 (20)
Rnd19-24: Sc x 20 (20)
Row25: You will now be creating the hem on the bottom of your Popsicle that you will use to sew your popsicle closed, sc x 9 (9)
Row26-27: Turn, ch, sc x 7, leave a long tail (you will use this tail to sew your Popsicle closed), now fasten off at the end of Row27 (7)
Arm (make 2)
Rnd1: With tan yarn (or the color of your choosing) sc x 6 in a magic ring, or ch x 2 and do 6sc in the second chain from your hook (6)
Rnd2-3: Sc x 6 (6)
Rnd4: Dec, sc x 4 (5)
Rnd5: Switch to green and sc x 5, leave a long tail (you will use this tail to sew your arm to your Popsicle), fasten off (5)
Leg (make 2)
Row1: With green yarn starting at the top of your leg ch x 7, join (7)
Rnd2-4: Sc x 7 (7)
Rnd5: Dec, sc x 5 (6)
Row6-7: You will now be creating the foot, turn, ch, sc x 2 (2)
Rnd8: Do not turn, sc around the entire piece, fasten off
Sole of foot (make 2)
Row1: With green yarn ch x 3 (3)
Row2: Turn, sc x 2 (2)
Row3-5: Turn, ch, sc x 2, fasten off at the end of Row5 (5)
Assembly
Stuff your Popsicle firmly, now sew it closed.
Sew the soles onto your feet. Now sew the arms and legs onto your Popsicle. Embroider on eyebrows and a mouth.
