Free Crochet Pattern Fall Skies and Apple Pies Table Runner

Posted by Crystal Bucholz on

Fall is such a fun time to decorate your home, and what better way with a trendy table runner?! The Fall Skies & Apple Pies design catches the essence of fall with the current yarn color trends.

Have you noticed the push for teal in fall décor? I have and I’m here for it. It’s a nice pop of color that pairs well with orange. But if you want traditional colors to match your curated home décor, feel free to substitute. The best part of crocheting is being able to customize to your liking. So go for it!

And if you are about the details like I am, adding tassels on each corner just tops it off. I made mine in orange to add another pop of a fall color, but get creative and you can even use two colors. So many variations can be created from one pattern.

If this is your first time doing colorwork, come on over to the Ways to Colorwork in Crochet ( https://brianakdesigns.com/ways-to-colorwork-in-crochet/ ) for some tips and tools that can help. The Fall Skies & Apple Pies Table Runner uses the intarsia method and your colors can be placed on bobbins to make it easier to create.

And of course, I’m here to help! I just know once you get addicted to colorwork you will love it like I do. I have lots more patterns to inspire you. Cheers!

ABOUT OUR DESIGNER

As a crochet designer, I love to experiment with new stitches and techniques. I’ve dabbled with hairpin lace, Tunisian crochet, and interlocking crochet, to name a few. Many of my designs are geared toward the intermediate crocheter, but I also try to make beginner-friendly designs and provide video support to make more challenging patterns accessible. There’s a special joy in making things that look difficult but are actually surprisingly easy and give a great ‘wow’ factor.
I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and I love the peace that comes from all things green and outdoorsy. For someone motivated by peace, like me, crochet is a great hobby. You can chill out, crochet for a few hours, and escape the busy rush of the day to day. That’s an escape that I definitely need as a working mom with 4 young kids!
Reading, playing piano, rowing, and biking are a few of my favorite things, and I’m also a science and math aficionado. I have a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Smith College and finished two years of graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill before leaving the world of academia to raise my family.
