Kelli's Favorite Skirt

What is your favorite thing/pattern you've ever crocheted?

Easy! "Kelli's Favorite Skirt" Pattern available on Ravelry, I have many photos and every size, from newborn-child's sizes to adult sizes. Anyhoo, it is a pattern made from the memory of the very first skirt I saw out in a store as a child that I just HAD to own. A kind Aunt bought it for me as a surprise, and I had never seen another skirt like it that I could buy in a store, so I made my own. (The original that I had as a kid was made from denim. Most of my crochet patterns were inspired by fabric clothing). I still wear it at least twice a year!

Where do you live?

Cedartown, Georgia

What else do you do for fun?

Polymer clay, we will leave it at that. ;)

What's your favorite place to visit?

I hope I don't have the answer to this yet! But we are headed to the Caribbean soon.

What's your favorite dessert?

Sugar Free Chocolate Espresso Torte

Who's your favorite crochet/fiber artist?

I mean I love me! But I fangirled over Lorene, Pam, Crystal, and Dianne at some point in my journey. I Love Stephanie Porkorny, Kim Guzman, and Heidi Lee Yates too.

What TV show/movie are you watching right now?

Ghosts on CBS

What's your favorite band/music right now?

90's alternative

What's your favorite emoji?

My phone says it is the crying laughing one 😂

What are a couple of fun facts about you?

The largest finished item I ever made was a 3 foot tall unicorn. Looking at sparkle soothes my soul.

I once carried approximately 300 lbs on my frame. It is still a struggle. I fight back and forth with keeping the last 40 pounds off. The next question from people is usually ‘how did you lose so much weight?!’  I have PCOS which is a disorder that causes many sufferers to gain large amounts of weight. And there was no magic pill or trick to beat it. Weight loss for me is always a joint exercise of cutting out sugars and simple carbohydrates and then watching portion control.

I just took up roller skating! Here’s the video my teacher (Skates Out Virtual) put on Tiktok summarizing my roller skating lesson yesterday. 100% every muscle is screaming this morning. That just means I need to continue and get back in shape!
