Changing Tides Beach Cover Part Two

I hope you are enjoying this CAL so far.  This design is growing into one of my favorites.  I love the unconventional construction, paired with the many possibilities you have to customize the cover specifically for you.

Last week we made the top portion of our Changing Tides Beach Cover, if you missed that post you can find it here.  You can also find a photo tutorial for the top assembly here.

This week we are going to work on the bottom, lace chevron, section of your cover.  Be sure to save all your progress pics to our Ravelry listing for this pattern.

Before you begin Part Two of the Changing Tides Beach Cover, you will need to check your st count from the last row of Part One.  You should have 136 (151, 166, 181, 196, 211) sts on your last row (Row 15).

This is vital before starting.  If your st count is not correct you will need to remedy this before moving on.  You can either frog back and increase or decrease as needed, or you can add an extra two rows and make your corrections there (you must add two single crochet rows to be working into the right side for Part Two).

Now that we are all on the same page... let's get started with the bottom section.

NOTE:  If you have purchased the Decoding Chevrons Furls Masterclass, this lace section is derived from Lesson 7 of the class.  Row 1 of the pattern above correlates with Row 2 of the class, and Row 2 of the pattern above correlates with Row 3 of the class.  If you haven't enrolled in this class yet, now is the time to do it... the early bird special (73% off) ends TODAY.  Enroll HERE

Rows 3-15:  Repeat Row 2 continuing to use your I/5.5mm- Blackberry Candy Shop hook.

Rows 16-31:  Repeat Row 2 switching to your J/6.0mm- Green Apple Candy Shop hook.

NOTE:  You can choose to to make your cover either shorter or longer.  Just be sure to end on an odd number row.

That completes Part Two of the Changing Tides Beach Cover CAL... you're almost there.  Next week we will talk additional customization and finish your covers with the edging, which also incorporates short rows for a professional shaping.

You should all be very proud of yourselves.  You've done some advanced crochet stitches, shaping and construction, so far.  My goal was to challenge you a bit on this CAL and show you that you can do anything you set your mind to.  I can't wait to see your finished results.
